Focused by design

One fetch. Two useful formats.

01

Fetch the public page

The free tool performs one safe static request and records the final URL, response status, timing, and redirects.

02

Find readable content

Scripts, styles, and much of the surrounding page chrome are removed before the main content is converted.

03

Copy with context

Choose Markdown or plain text, then keep the source evidence and content hash beside anything you store.

Honest limits

What the free scraper does not do

The free tool converts one static HTML response. It does not execute JavaScript, interact with a page, bypass access controls, solve challenges, crawl linked pages, or promise that every visual element becomes Markdown.

Each displayed Markdown and text output is limited to 100,000 characters. The report shows the original character count when an output is shortened. Use the Web Scraping API for automatic or browser rendering, structured sections, links, schema, raw HTML, and repeatable workflows.

Only collect public information you are permitted to use. Respect applicable law, website terms, privacy, intellectual property, and sensible request rates.

Common questions

Web Page Scraper FAQ

Why is some content missing?

The page may insert content with JavaScript, require interaction, restrict automated access, or use a layout that does not expose a clear readable region in static HTML.

Is Markdown better than plain text?

Markdown keeps useful structure such as headings, lists, links, tables, and code where extraction supports it. Plain text is simpler for reading, search, or lightweight comparison.

Can I automate this?

Yes. Start with the API documentation and the Web Scraping API quickstart.

Turn a public webpage into usable text

The free Web Page Scraper fetches one public static page and returns readable Markdown and plain text without navigation code, scripts, or manual copy cleanup.

Pages requiring browser rendering, login access, or interaction may be incomplete. Production workflows can use the Web Scraping API.

Useful output

Review the final URL, status, title, word count, response time, content hash, Markdown, and plain text in one result.

Responsible use

Access only permitted public pages. Respect publisher instructions, rate limits, privacy obligations, and intellectual-property rights.
